Couverture rigide. Condition: Très bon. Montréal, Imprimerie de Louis Perrault et Compagnie, 1865, belle reliure en plein cuir avec décor doré et à froid, 5 nerfs au dos, toutes les tranches dorées, environ 23 X 16 cm, (viii) 521 pages. La reliure est en bon état ou mieux, complète et très solide, ne montrant que de l'usure moye…nne aux coins droits des plats, de l'usure et frottement mineur aux extrémités du dos, quelques léger frottements aux bordure (ici et là) et une discrète tache ou marque blanchâtre sur le médaillon du premier plat. L'intérieur est en excellent état ; propre (sauf quelques pâles taches aux page 246-47 (voir images)), solidement relié, sans marques ou inscriptions, ni annotations ou soulignements. Certes il y a quelques rares petits traces d'âge mais trop vagues pour être décrites. Le livre commence directement avec la page de titre (après la garde évidemment) mais on voit à la charnière de cette page un petit résidu de papier qui semble démontrer qu'une page précédente a été enlevée (une page de faux titre peut-être) toutefois la pagination correspond à l'état actuel du livre c.-à-d. que la page de titre serait bien la page 1. Même chose à la fin où juste avant la garde on voit deux bandes de papier encore cousues à la charnière mais pourtant à cet endroit l'index est terminé et rien d'autre n'est annoncé dans la table des matières. Enfin la dernière page 521 présente une déchirure de 5 cm à la marge inférieure rejoignant la charnière (nous l'avons réparé de belle façon. Somme toute un très bel exemplaire de ce livre extrêmement rare. P.S. Nous avons aussi le second Appendice publié par le même auteur en 1870 mais nous ne l'annonçons pas sur Abebooks car bien qu'en excellente condition une page de texte a été découpée amputant celle-ci de toute une moitié de page.
