First Edition. Oversize paperbound format, 11Ó x 15.Ó Illustrated throughout. Near fine copy with a touch of edge wear and very minor spotting to the covers in printed wrappers. An overview of the work of noted film animator, Norman McLaren, whose many innovations in the field including developing the technique of drawing directly on film, thus eliminating the need of a camera, and using three-dimensional animation in the conversion of animated drawings. He won an Oscar for his cartoon, Neighbors, in which he moved live actors 24 times a second, resembling the robotic clay-mation technique.

First edition. Folio; 31 pp.; illustrated from photographs and drawings. Small stain to front cover; else a very good copy in original pictorial wrappers. The National Film Board of Canada's tribute to McLaren, the innovative animator and film-maker.

(B&W photographs, graphics) Large-format booklet (32 pages, plus covers) presenting a brief biography of the innovative Scottish-Canadian animator Norman McLaren, plus an illustrated survey of his work, much of which was done under the auspices of the National Film Board of Canada. Includes a filmography, in the form of an alphabetical title index. [NOTE regarding the scanned image: what appears to be a small tear at the left edge of the cover is just a flaw in the scan; the book actually has no such tear.].

Pamphlet 10.5" x 6" Card folded into three compartments with compartmentalised illustrations stuck to the inside and ten line poem. A slight rather arty object , presumably rare. Light even soiling very slight creasing ,vg.
