Father Andrew passed in 1946 after almost 50 years of being a priest to the poor in an east London slum. He spoke of prayer as the approach to reality which was apparent in his writings. His words of God and prayer are still a gift of light to Christians who wish to be more real effective people. This is a treasury of his words that speak to the present day. A clean very presentable copy in a Brodart mylar jacket.

No Binding. Condition: Collectible-Very Good. Original black-and-white publicity photograph showing a film still from the movie, Perfect Strangers (1945). Robert Donat and fellow actors Alf Goddard and Harry Ross are shown in-character aboard a crowded boat of weary-looking men. The visual focus in on Donat who is rowing with a pair of oars. No date, circa 1945. 8" x 10 1/4." Printed description tipped in on back. "M.G.M. 6-119." printed in lower-left corner on front. Black stamp on back: "This is a key set print." Photo is very clean and intact except for almost imperceptible discoloration on back and a few wrinkles, most of which are limited to the margins. A Very Good copy. Perfect Strangers (1945) is a drama by London Films. The movie starred Robert Donat and Deborah Kerr. Donat is shown here as the character of Robert Wilson, one half of a troubled married couple whose lives are up-ended by World War II. Kerr played his wife, Cathy Wilson. The film was released in the United States as Vacation from Marriage. Robert Donat (1905-1958) was an English actor. He won an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in Alfred Hitchcock's Goodbye, Mr. Chips (1939). Alf Goddard (1897-1981) and Harry Ross (1913-2001) were also English actors. Description on back: "MGM 6 - 119; Fortune of War; Torpedoed in the Mediterranean, Robert Donat and the destroyer crew take to the boats, bringing their injured comrades with them.
