    Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Straight, solid hardcover in medium green cloth covered boards with black lettering. Color loss and light rubbing at tips, 39pp crisp and clean with some foxing on endpapers along with former owner's name and bookplate. Not exlib. Well illustrated in b/w photos. Frontispiece is a photo of HRH Princess Margaret standing at the head of a harnessed Fell pony and holding a silver cup trophy. The Princess is the Patroness of the Society. Original, photo-illustrated green/white dust wrapper has some color loss and repairs, along with light even soil on white background rear panel but displays well in new mylar. Includes Ponies of the New Forest/ Exmoor Ponies, Dale & Fell Ponies/ The Highland Pony/ The Welsh Mountain Pony/ The Ponies of Dartmoor/ Shetland Ponies. Mountain and Moorland Ponies of Great Britain issued by The National Pony Society. Publication date c.1930s. This scarce little book gives details of the National Pony Society which began in 1893 by enthusiastic polo players, principally young soldiers who had played polo out East, and wanted to play polo in Britain when they returned.
