August 1913 starb er in Freiburg i.B. Goldmann erwarb sich als Chirurg, Physiologe, Biologe und Histologe besondere Verdienste. Namentlich auf dem Gebiete der Lehre von den malignen Geschwülsten und der Lehre von der inneren Sekretion - hier erschloß er mit Hilfe der EHRLICHschen Methode der vitalen Färbung neue Bahnen - leistete er Hervorragendes. Er publizierte u. a.: " Vitalfärbung am Zentralnervensystem", Berlin 1913."
