Hardcover. Condition: Good. First Edition. London: J. Jaques & W. Wright, 1825. First edition, 1825. Three quarter smooth brown calf leather over marbled boards, frontis engraved plate, eight additional plates, 808 pages. Externally fair to good, internally good to very good. Covers heavily rubbed with some chipping to the marbled paper, spine alligatored but archivally stabilized and not chipping, repaired closed tear near spine head, sound binding, lightly age-toned but clean pages, all plates present, no names or other markings. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.

First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. First edition. Sm4to. vi, 7-808pp. Nine engravings including frontispiece are listed on the last page with directions for their placement; however, other than the frontispiece (with tissue-guard) after the Preface and before the first page of the text. In original cloth covered boards and spine with paper label. Cloth may have been red, now very faded, soiled and stained overall. Edges at head and tail of board spine are split and chipping. Lower end of back spine fold has a 2 1/4" peal from paper over text block. Rub-throughs on several places on board edges, including most of the lower edges, and all fore-edge corners. External page edges are soiled- and age-darkened and with some foxing. End papers are grubby and with faint small damp stains, scuffs and pencil/erasures. The first engraving (after pg. vi of Preface) is mostly separated from the gutter except for 3/4" at the upper edge. Internal foxing mostly on several of the first and last pages and the engravings. A few internal smudges. Text block is stable in general. Please use-up options for best inspection and in support of condition description. Additional photos available at your request.
