Seller: My Dead Aunt's Books, Hyattsville, MD, U.S.A.
Hardcover. Condition: ACCEPTABLE. Dust Jacket Condition: NONE. Let's start at the front: It looks like the leather front cover, which is worn and spotted, was glued back on and is now somewhat brittle. Inside front cover, front flyleaf, verso of title page, and first page of Preface have pencil writing and drawing (who would do that???). Cracked front hinge. Type is very clear in most places but cracked in others - still totally readable. Pages have spots, smudges, a tear on one fore-edge, a few creased corners, rippling at gutters, and what looks like tanning behind type but is the verso page showing through. Stain on outer and lower edges of inside back cover, continuing onto pages but fading on the outer edge and decreasing on the lower edge. Back cover is also worn, spotted, worn at corners, and split at upper spine. Spine leather is detached at the front edge and the gilt lettering and motifs are still visible but worn. The only thing left is the outer edges of the text block, which are lightly spotted and age-toned. This book is the real deal and needs some TLC.
