Self-wrappers. 8 pp. Good condition overall, light stain in upper right corner. A single sheet loosely laid in with the same volume and number is a call for the participation of the members of the Forest Hills Rifle Club in the Fourth of July festivities. Two other items are also included: a single sheet printed in vivid colors with an elaborate illustration of an outdoor costume party entitled Fourth of July in Forest Hills Gardens by Harry Rountree, perhaps lifted from another context; and a four-page brochure about an address by the journalist and war corespondent Isaac F. Marcosson scheduled for that day. The 1919 event was a victory celebration. The proclamation that appears on the cover page of the bulletin was designed by Frederick W. Goudy, who was a Forest Hills resident. Forest Hills, now most associated with tennis, was an innovatively planned upscale community. Unusual and no doubt highly uncommon specimen of Goudy's typography.
