Ursula Grabley war seit 1927 an der Berliner Volksbühne tätig, wo sie als Soubrette in der Komödie Jill und Jim" erste Erfolge feierte und von wo aus sie an die Komische Oper, ans Deutsche Theater und ans Theater unter den Linden verpflichtet wurde. Da sie mit ihrem Pagenschnitt und selbstbewußt-burschikosem Verhalten den Vorstellungen eines Mädels von heute' um 1930 entsprach, erhielt [sie] auch zahlreiche Filmangebote. In Hauptrollen oder wichtigen Nebenrollen, meist im Genre der Filmkomödie, verkörperte sie die patente junge Frau von nebenan. Nach einer Kontroverse mit Propagandaminister Joseph Goebbels erhielt sie ab 1939 keine Filmrollen mehr und mußte sich auf die Theaterarbeit beschränken" (Wikipedia, Abfrage v. 29. III. 2009). Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg war Ursula Grabley in Hamburg Mitgründerin des Kabaretts Rendezvous", spielte am Thalia Theater und am Jungen Theater und verkörperte im Film der 50er Jahre häufig resolute Mütter.
