Grant, 18th President of the United States, harbored secret aspirations to establish an American monarchy, with himself as emperor. Drawing upon historical documents and analysis, the author argues that Grant's actions and policies throughout his presidency and subsequent travels abroad were carefully calculated to advance this ambitious agenda. The book explores the motivations behind Grant's alleged desire for imperial power, examines the international context in which these aspirations emerged, and assesses the potential impact they could have had on the course of American history. It offers a fascinating exploration of the intersection between personal ambition, political power, and the fragile nature of democratic institutions. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
