Elton Clay Fax was an American cartoonist, illustrator and artist who among many other things taught art at the Harlem Community Center and was the recipient of a Rockefeller Grant. He was also for a time a "ChalkTalk" artist. The author edited for young black reader the "Negro History Sources Series" of autobiographies and diaries, according to the author's note at the end of the book. Please see all images.
