Add to basketHardcover. Condition: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. Volume the 56th of The Works of the English Poets with prefaces, biographical and critical, by Samuel Johnson. Brown leather bound hard cover with minimal cover wear, but unfortunately detached front board. Clean interior with two frontispieces of Lyttelton and Gray (mis-spelt as Gay) and 371 pages. West's works include the Odes of Pindar and the Triumphs of the Gout translated from the Greek of Lucian. Gray's poems include An Elegy in a Churchyard. Published in 1779 this scarce volume of poetry would be in very good condition but for the detached board.
