Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. PLEASE NOTE: This book was published before the rise of the Nazi party, and, regrettably, includes the swastika on its cover as a design element. At the time of publication, the symbolbelieved to have originated in Indiarepresented good luck, and neither author nor publisher could have foreseen the horrific meaning it would eventually carry. Due to the understandably triggering effect this symbol has for many people today, it will be obscured in any photographs shared. As for the condition, it's a circa 1890's book, tight and clean for its age, featuring a couple of bright and colorful illustrations. The only marking is the rubber stamp of 'Kivlehan the Bookseller, Limerick,' on the front endpaper; otherwise, it's an unmarked copy. An extremely scarce title by this popular turn-of-the-century juvenile novelist.

Hardcover. Condition: Poor. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 322 pages (complete). In general very poor condition. Cecil Adair was one of the pen-names of Evelyn Everett-Green who was best known for her righteous and pious stories for children. However, once she moved abroad to Funchal she wrote mainly romances under the Adair name. The cover is grubby, marked, stained, worn. It is nonetheless strong and firm. The spine is faded and worn but secure. Other than previous owners it was once held by Germiston Municipal Library in Johannesburg with consequent debris, damage, annotations, stamps and markings and usage. The pages are very tight and confident and assured. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
