Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. Full leather with gilt-lettered red and black spine labels. Complete in three volumes. Fifteenth Edition, Revised, with Large Additions by Simon Greenleaf Croswell. First published 1842 by the Harvard law professor; subsequent copyright renewals 1858 through 1883. Introductory pages in Volume 1 include original dedication to Joseph Story (1842), " Advertisement to the First Edition" (1842), and Prefaces to both the fourteenth (1883) and present edition. Volume 2 carries the "Advertisement to the Second Edition" (1853). All three volumes are solid, with intact bindings and hinges. All extremities rubbed, with varying amounts of wear. Most corners are worn through to boards. Most worn is head of spine of Volume 3, with splitting away from front board at upper front edge. Front board of Volume 3 and rear board of Volume 1 are moderately-to-heavily scuffed and lightly soiled; other boards lightly scuffed. Labels of all intact with moderate wear to fore edges of those on Volumes 1 and 2. Inside front covers of all bear signature and location of one prior owner, underneath which appears a very small law office address inkstamp. Interior of all volumes otherwise clean. Heavy; expect shipping adjustment for overseas order.
