One of the first books from the press which commenced operations in 1953. Library plate of Cambridge historian, Patrick Bury (1908-1987), inside front cover. Folio (47.4 x 31.6 cm). Four parts printed in fifteen bifolia, with title and twelve lithographed illustrations by Roy Morgan loose as issued, plus 20pp text booklet loosely inserted. Slight darkening to edges of pages and the odd spot. Lithos spotless. Housed in quarter olive-green hessian folder with patterned paper covers and pink liners, titled to front cover in black. A few tiny scuffs to covers and tips, near fine overall. A lovely example.
