The book is in excellent condition for its age with the printed pages in Fine condition, covers only slightly worn at the tips, inner hinges holding well but somewhat cracked. The dust jacket is 99% complete with slight loss to tips and the back panel. No tears over 1.5cm. The book is inscribed by Lt. Com. D. W. Child RNVR (see p. 42 of The Intelligence Game by James Rusbrdiger for information on his WWII career) to a Canadian thus "Rheinsberg 1941, To Ted, With best wishes for your birthday and hope that the next one will be spent in better surroundings. Lieut Com D. H. Child RNVR and Arthur B. Winterbottom". The inscribee was a prisoner in Germany for several years during WWII. Some interesting material laid in: a Christmas 1941 restaurant menu on a silk bookmark. Also, a small guidebook to the surrounding area in Germany (Rheinsberg). März 1952 in Mistelbach, Niederösterreich) ist ein österreichischer Fotograf, Künstler, Zeichner und Autor. Willy Puchner wuchs in der niederösterreichischen Bezirkshauptstadt Mistelbach als Sohn eines Fotografenehepaars auf. Von 1967 bis 1974 besuchte er die Graphische Bundes-Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt in Wien, Abteilung Fotografie. Danach war er Lehrer für zwei Jahre an derselben Schule. Seit 1978 freischaffender Fotograf, Zeichner, Künstler und Autor. Von 1983 bis 1988 studierte er Philosophie, Publizistik, Geschichte und Soziologie. 1988 approbierte er mit einer Diplomarbeit in Sozialphilosophie mit dem Titel Über private Fotografie. Seit 1989 regelmäßige Mitarbeit bei der Wiener Zeitung. Berühmt wurde Willy Puchner mit dem Projekt Die Sehnsucht der Pinguine. Er reiste mit den Polyester-Pinguin-Figuren Joe & Sally vier Jahre lang ans Meer und in die Wüste, nach New York, Sydney, Peking und Paris, nach Venedig, Tokio, Honolulu und Kairo, um sie dort im Bild festzuhalten.
