L'un des XXX exemplaires de tête numérotés (XXVII) en romain réservés aux animateurs de l'éditeur, outre 10'300 numérotés en arabe, tous sur papier volumineux de Landquart. Bois gravés originaux de Palézieux. Traduction nouvelle de Jean Paul Samson (avec une préface de Davos), faite sur le… manuscrit définitif. Rare exemple de gravure sur bois des débuts du maître de Veyras, qui à part quelques incursions lithographiques, a essentiellement travaillé le cuivre.Hormis deux trois ex-libris des débuts et un travail de commande des papetiers Blum & Rochat (un tirage à part sur Auvergne y prolonge un texte inédit de Chappaz), ce dernier fut un proche de Palézieux avec qui ils partageaient la lecture du petit volume "Feuillets" de Roud en détachement militaire, nous ne connaissons pas d'autres bois gravés.On y joint ce tiré à part et les trois bulletins de la Guilde (juin, août et septembre 1949) où figurent des extraits du texte, avec une notice biographique succincte et des reproductions de bois en deux tons de Palézieux ainsi qu'un billet autographe de ce dernier !
