Die seltenen Lithographien zeigen teils ungewöhnliche Ansichten aus Rom, Neapel, Florenz, Assisi, Zürich etc., besonders interessant sind jedoch die Selbstportraits der reisenden Künstler selbst wie z.B. das Blatt "Die Maler auf dem Hallstädter Gletscher, im österreichischen Salzkammergut". Darauf sind Julius Schoppe links im Blatt, rechts neben ihm Carl Friedrich Zimmermann und Carl Wilhelm Gropius vorne liegend, in Begleitung von zwei Bergführern, zu sehen. Die Künstler, in altdeutscher Malertracht gekleidet, rasten vor der Kulisse des Dachsteins. Ferner: "Die Maler in der Nacht auf dem Schneeberge bei Wien" und "Kellergewölbe im alten Schloss Guttenstein" (einer der Künstler beim Zeichnen an eine Säule gelehnt). Prachtvoll auch das Blatt "Reisende Engländer auf dem Gotthardt". - Die natur-romantische Dichtung von Maltitz, welche die Illustration begleitet, unterstreicht die Eindrücke der Künstler auf ihrer Wanderung in der Wildnis des Hochgebirges. - Schöne Drucke mit breitem Rand. Kleine Alters- und Gebrauchsspuren oder Fleckchen überwiegend im weißen Rand, sonst sämtlich in sehr guter Erhaltung. Ursprünglich aus der für ihre frühen Lithographien bekannten Sammlung von R. Arnim Winkler, der unter anderem das Standardwerk "Die Frühzeit der deutschen Lithographien" veröffentlichte. ".
