Vol1: 292 pp., Vol 2: 230 pp. Vol 1: b&w frontis with tissue guard; paper bookplate glued to front endpaper; inscription in pencil to free endpaper dated 1916; offset to title, toned to extremities throughout. Vol 2: b&w frontis with tissue guard; paper bookplate glued to front endpaper; spotting to free endpaper, frontis, title and first few leaves. Toned with some foxing and a few stains throughout. Text blocks are clear, square and tight. Mild wear to edges and some discoloration leather. Housed in a new burgundy cloth hard shell slipcase. A very good, contemporary rebound, set.

Leather. Third Edition. 212p. A small hardcover book with a black leather spine and corners. The boards and endpapers are marbled. The edges are rubbed and the top of the spine is a bit chipped, about 1/8" deep. The front hinge was cracked, but has been repaired. Early owner's ink signature on the title page, dated 1760. Another owner's signature on the following leaf, this one undated. Pages browned and foxed with age, but text otherwise unmarked. A scarce volume from the mid-18th century in good condition overall. RARE THIRD EDITION in English, published in 1754. Measures approx. 5.25" x 3.5".
