Cette publication occupe les pages 209-213 ; elle est illustrée de 10 figures dans le texte. Les auteurs présentent brièvement les conceptions de différents neurologues sur la systématisation de la capsule interne, puis exposent les résultats de leurs propres recherches sur les localisations capsulaires (méthode anatomo-clinique) : "en clinique, on ne peut constater dans la capsule interne aucune localisation segmentaire persistante". Pierre Marie (1853-1940) était alors agrégé de médecine et médecin des hôpitaux (exerçant à Bicêtre). Il obtiendra la chaire de clinique des maladies du système nerveux à la Salpêtrière en 1917.
