Paperback. Condition: new. Paperback. What happens when an ordinary man refuses to live an ordinary life?John Gullo's journey began in working-class neighborhoods, where grit, humor, and survival mattered more than polish. From there, life took him through grocery aisles, into the fast-food world, and eventually into building a Burger King franchise empire-often learning leadership lessons the hard way. But success didn't come without cost. Failure, heartbreak, health crises, and betrayal forced him to confront who he was becoming, not just what he was building. This book is not a victory lap. It's an honest accounting. With candor and wit, Gullo shares stories of standing up to corporate leadership, betting on people others overlooked, navigating loss, and discovering that real leadership is measured by credibility, service, and responsibility. Along the way, he helped pioneer professional Pickleball, eventually named to the sport's Hall of Fame, launched philanthropic initiatives for children and families, and learned that giving back wasn't a side project-it was the point. The Extraordinary Adventures of an Ordinary Man blends memoir with lived leadership insight, offering readers something rare: lessons that weren't taught, but earned. This is a story for entrepreneurs, leaders, builders, and anyone who believes that service-not status-is the truest measure of success. This item is printed on demand. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.

Hardcover. Condition: Good. Dust Jacket Condition: poor. Presumed First Edition, First printing. 25 cm. 406 pages. Bibliography. Author index. Subject Index. About the Authors. Pieces missing to DJ, with other wear, tears, and soiling. Some wear to spine where DJ is gone. Black mark and other soiling to bottom edge. This work presents some case histories of Murderers, general and sociological theories of murder, psychoanalytic theories of murder, psychological theories of murder, biological and physical theories of murder, emotional disturbance of murder, psychological factors in assassination, emotional disturbance of assassins, and information on patient interviews and the treatment of murderers and assassins. Albert Ellis (September 27, 1913 ? July 24, 2007) was an American psychologist and psychotherapist who founded rational emotive behavior therapy (REBT). He held MA and Ph.D. degrees in clinical psychology from Columbia University, and was certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP). He also founded, and was the President of, the New York City-based Albert Ellis Institute. He is generally considered to be one of the originators of the cognitive revolutionary paradigm shift in psychotherapy and an early proponent and developer of cognitive-behavioral therapies. Based on a 1982 professional survey of US and Canadian psychologists, he was considered the second most influential psychotherapist in history (Carl Rogers ranked first in the survey; Sigmund Freud was ranked third). Psychology Today noted that, "No individual?not even Freud himself?has had a greater impact on modern psychotherapy." Dr. Albert Ellis and John Gullo examine the case histories of notorious murderers through the ages--ranging from Nero and Jack the Ripper to Bonnie and Clyde, Adolph Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Nathan Leopold, Richard Leob, and Charles Manson. Ellis and Gullo explore and evaluate the theories of murder advanced by dozens of experts, including the psychoanalytic theories of Sigmund Freud, Ernest Jones, Alfred Adler, the general and sociological theories of Frederic Wertham, Karl Menninger, Edwin Sutherland, and the National Commission on the Causes and Prevention of Violence. They also examine the psychological theories of Manfred Guttmacher, H. J. Eysenck and H. Cleckley and the biological and physical theories of Ernest Hooten, Ashley Montagu, and George Bach. They point out surprising similarities in the case histories of assassins--with detailed analyses of the murderers of President Abraham Lincoln, Leon Trotsky, President James A. Garfield, President John F. Kennedy, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Senator Robert F. Kennedy and other public figures.
