In black cloth-covered boards decorated with blind rules. 12mo. Boards are rubbed at edges, chipped on corners, backstrip partially crumbed away and has been repaired with tape. Text block edges darkened. Previous owner's name on front free endpaper, endpapers a little marked, else internally neat, clean, bright and tight. A collection of poetry by John Gummer, whose poetry otherwise appeared in literary magazines and journals of the time, some of it being set to music. The title poem, Night and Day, was first read at a meeting of St Peter's Presbyterian Literary Society where it is said to have made a deep impression. Volume sold to raise funds for the Bazaar Fund of St Peter's Presbyterian Church in Upper Tooting, London. Lovely little volume of evocative poetry.

A left-stapled transcript measuring 5-3/4" by 8-1/2" and containing 24 pages including front and rear covers. The transcript number, in order of telecast, was compiled and maintained by SECA commencing with the program's move to the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) in 1971 although the number does not appear in the issue. This is the transcript of the Firing Line program taped at the BBC in London, England, on July 30, 1971 and telecast on PBS on October 10, 1971 (not October 31 as indicated in the transcript). Hosted by William F. Buckley, Jr., the topic was "Pornography English Style"; the guests were Mrs. Renee Short (Member of Parliament) and Mr. John Selwyn Gummer (Member of Parliament); the student participants were Helene Middleweek, Peter Riddell, and Roger Evans, all from Cambridge University.
