No Binding. Condition: Near Fine. Guy Shorey (illustrator). Undated, circa 1930's during the early part of Henry N. Teague's reign over the Cog RR. 48 toned photos & maps, illustrated pages folded once. Most of the photos are by the Shorey Studios (Lancaster & Gorham) and we surmise they published this as well, however that is just a guess. No published listed but printed by Alco Gravure, NY. Scarce thus.

No Binding. Condition: Near Fine. Envelope present, addressed to a friend in Glenwood, Mass, dated Dec. 21, Ossipee, NH. The year is not clear however by the stamp and type of photo it is likely around 1932-1935. The age patina (sepia print shine) of the photo suggests early 1930's. A lovely card with photograph of Mt Chocorua and the lake in the foreground, verse and a colored lit candle illustration complete the country look. Very nice.

REF: The White Mountains: An Annotated Bibliography, 1918-1947. William Wright NOTE: This was an addenda to 'Bent's' famous bibliography and was published in 'Appalachia', December, 1848.

Scene was also on 2 covers of "New Hampshire Troubadour" magazine around the same time. Famed NH photographer Guy Shorey of Gorham NH was on the board at the time. Maps, photo illustrations, graphs, posters, etc. all devoted to the efforts of this organization whos purpose was attracting tourists to NH. June 30th, 1937 letter to the Governor & Executive council as frontis. Moderate wear, VG-.

Too many items to list individually, over 70; postcards, place cards, photographs, one small broadside of the old man, etc. I will include A signed example of the hardcover history: 'Among the white hills' by Susan Hawkins & Guy Gosselin, and the booklet published by the Plymouth Museum of the White Mountains entitled Guy Shorey: 'Among the white hills'. A very unique collection which certainly must be seen.

No Binding. Condition: Near Fine. A Collection of Original Photos, Advertising Cards, Business Cards, Tally Cards, Note Cards and Etc. mostly from his shops in Gorham and Randolph, NH. Shorey Studios Collection of approximately 65 items. Guy L Shorey Is principally noted for his photography recording the life, times and scenery of Northern New Hampshire, especially the White Mountains area and the locality of Gorham, New Hampshire. He operated a drugstore, a gift and photography shop in Gorham, as well as briefly a studio and tea room in Randolph, New Hampshire. However, it was his black-and-white photos that he is principally remembered for and the multiple ways he used these photos in and to produce salable items, such as are represented in this collection, and the highly collectible Shorey postcard series with their Shorey studio logo. All were offered to his community and to the growing number of tourists visiting the area during the 1920s and 1930s and beyond. His work included a printing press used in producing his sales items, and doing job press work for hotels and local businesses. Mostly NOS in fine condition.
