Hardcover. Condition: Very good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very good. 191, [1] pages. Illustrations. Footnotes. Index. Yolande C. Gwin (c. 1910-1993) was a newspaper reporter for the Atlanta Constitution and the Atlanta Journal. Mostly writing in the "society" section, she also wrote for the headline news section. In 1983, she published a book of reminisces entitled "Yolande's Atlanta: From the Historical to the Hysterical," and in 1987, she published "I Remember Margaret Mitchell." Margaret Munnerlyn Mitchell (November 8, 1900 - August 16, 1949) was an American novelist and journalist. Mitchell wrote only one novel, published during her lifetime, the American Civil War-era novel Gone with the Wind, for which she won the National Book Award for Most Distinguished Novel of 1936 and the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1937. Long after her death, a collection of Mitchell's girlhood writings and a novella she wrote as a teenager, titled Lost Laysen, were published. A collection of newspaper articles written by Mitchell for The Atlanta Journal was republished in book form. These letters from Margaret's friends and her letters to them give us addtional insight into the know of person she was. A person we wish we had known. First Edition [stated], presumed first printing.
