Pink titles on gilt ground with pink cloth covers, 678 pages including a "citizens handbook" with the Constitution and other material on the federal government and illustrated with many portraits of important political figures of the time. This was a campaign biography for the losers of the 1884 election. Shows signs of wear: fading and edge wear to cover and an internal hinge crack at back hinge.

Book is actually two sections; the first dealing with Blaine and the Nominating convention, the second with Logan his vice presidential running mate. Previous owner stamp in ink on front endpaper. Book is intact with no broken hinges , etc. but is not tight. Appears to have been wetted. Some spots on the rear and front cover has a bow. Sunning on spine and topedge of covers. Small split (1/2") at front of spine toward the front. Some fox spots in the text. Similar book/subject as our # 05128.
