8vo. 1 p. Albumblatt mit Namenszug unterhalb seines Portraits. - Robert Haab (* 8. August 1865 in Wädenswil; 15. Oktober 1939 in Zürich; heimatberechtigt in Wädenswil) war ein Schweizer Politiker (FDP). Beruflich war er von 1899 bis 1908 als Richter am Obergericht des Kantons Zürich tätig, von 1912 bis 1917 als Mitglied der Gene…raldirektion der Schweizerischen Bundesbahnen (SBB). Dazwischen war er Zürcher Regierungsrat, im Jahr 1917 vorübergehend Botschafter in Deutschland. Nach seiner Wahl in den Bundesrat stand Haab von 1919 bis 1928 dem Post- und Eisenbahndepartements vor. In diesem Amt trieb er die Elektrifizierung des SBB-Streckennetzes voran und baute die Post-, Telefon- und Telegrafenbetriebe aus.

Im Auftrag des Bundesrats ging Haab 1917 als Gesandter nach Berlin, wurde im selben Jahr in den Bundesrat gewählt und hatte 1922 und 1929 das Amt des Bund…espräsidenten inne. Nach zwölfjähriger Leitung des Post- und Eisenbahndepartements trat er 1929 aus gesundheitlichen Gründen zurück und wurde Präsident der Gottfried-Keller-Gesellschaft, Verwaltungsrat des Schweizerischen Bankvereins und der Firma Maggi, 1930 Präsident des Etzelwerkes und 1934 der Schweizerischen Volksbank" (DBE). Beiliegend zwei Bll. Zeitungsausschnitte.
