Cloth. Condition: Fine. First Edition. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" This apparently fictional work, bound in plush dark red velvet, is totally over the top. Imagine, if you will, that Liberace was fascinated by faith-based paranormal ghost stories, had a thing for Victorian death fetishes and magically turned all of this into a book. The text explores the death of a young girl's grandfather, and his appearance to her after death, with subsequent reflections on faith, death and the afterlife. The tone of the tale can best be described as a mix of personal memoir, paranormal fiction, allegory, faith, and family history. The binding is a lustrous rich flexible red velvet, evocative of a red rose. Handset and printed in black and red ink on a handpress at the Pangloss Press at the University of South Carolina Library school. This work is entirely unrecorded, and it is likely only a handful of copies were issued. [18] pages, decorative title.
