Deutsche Handschrift auf Papier, 1 Bl., c. 21,3 × 27,3 cm, altersgebräunt, Einrissen an Faltstellen, Briefinhalt fehlt. Poststempel: Charge. Marie Halbreiter war eine ehemals gefeierte Sopranistin, die in den 1840er Jahren als Interpretin der Lieder von Beethoven, Schubert oder Schumann Erfolge feierte und tragende Rollen in den wichtigen Opern jener Zeit spielte, so als Fidelio in Beethovens gleichnamiger Oper, als Hedwig in Rossinis Wilhelm Tell, als Romeo in Bellinis Montecchi i Capuletti, als Gräfin in Mozarts Figaro, als Agathe in Webers Freischütz oder in der Titelrolle von Spohrs Jessonda. Halbreiter versuchte sich späterhin auch als Lyrikerin, mit dem dramatischen Gedicht? Johannes-Liebe (München 1890), das immerhin zwei Auflagen erreichte, konnte sie allerdings nicht mehr an die früheren musikalischen Erfolge anknüpfen.Halbreiter hielt sich 1845/46 in Coburg auf. Am dortigen Herzogshof wurde 1845 mit einigem Erfolg Beethovens Fidelio mit Halbreiter in der Titelrolle aufgeführt.Bei dem nicht mehr erhaltenen Briefinhalt könnte es sich um eine Bestellung gehandelt haben, zählte doch bereits damals Breitkopf und Härtel zu den bedeutendsten Musikverlagen, der mit der Allgemeinen Musikalischen Zeitung eine der maßgeblichen Fachzeitschriften herausgab, in denen regelmäßig die wichtigen deutschen Musikaufführungen besprochen wurden.
