Published shortly before the German invasion, this work is a groundbreaking literary report on the state of the ongoing industrial and economic progress of the Second Polish Republic, during the inter-war period. The book's author, acclaimed Polish journalist Melchior Wa?kowicz, conducted research and interviews from across the economic and political spectrum, from factory workers, miners, and and teachers to politicians (including the president Ignacy Mo?cicki), ministers, and captains of industry. The book is profusely illustrated throughout with countless finely-printed full page and in-text b/w photogravure image and photomontage, as well as few images in color (including a two page spread after p.56). Also included are some charts, maps and other illustrations. Text in Polish. Binding with some rubbing to extremities, and some minor chipping along the side edge of the covers.
