Titles ink stamped to the front cover, fifteen offset printed fanfold monogram cards mounted to the back cover. Contents include twelve additional rubber stamped manila envelopes containing prints and objects, b & w photos lithographed on various papers and glassine, laid in folded posters, texts and illustrations including event scores and musical notations. Edition of approximately 100 assembled by George Maciunas in New York with elements printed in Wiesbaden and elsewhere at various times beginning in 1963. Within 8-1/2 x 9-1/2 x 3 inch fitted shipping box of oak and pine, black stencil marked "C.A.T. New York 13831." One of the highlights of the anti-Art underground: a cornucopia of conceptual games, gags, scores, texts and artifacts arranged alphabetically by artist name. Works originated in the early 1960s but this fluctuating anthology was printed, assembled and sold by Maciunas until 1977. His skillful graphical interpretations of the artist's concepts and his playful packaging give the collection a unified identity. The edition at hand lacks some of the contributors (Dick Higgins, Giuseppe Chiari, Sohei Hashimoto, La Monte Young) included in earlier states before falling out of favor with Maciunas or because printed stock was depleted. Complete with its original wooden case, this example survives in exemplary condition. Scarce on the market: we find just three auction records since 2012.
