It is based on specimens collected by various individuals and institutions, including the American Palestine Exploration Society, and now housed in the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard University. The fossils, largely gastropods and bivalves, come from Cretaceous strata and provide valuable insights into the paleontological record of the region. The author, whose identity is not mentioned in this excerpt, has named and described 14 new gastropod species and six new bivalve species, adding to our understanding of the diversity and distribution of ancient marine life in the area. This work contributes to the ongoing study of Syrian paleontology and will be of interest to geologists, paleontologists, and natural history enthusiasts seeking a deeper understanding of the region's geological past. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
