The imprint is somewhat light, indicating that this may have been a somewhat later… impression from the original plate. There are 5 different illustrations on this sheet, being a scene of war ships at sea, Neptune in his chariot, a shipwreck along a coast, the American eagle, and a long horizontal view of Providence Harbor. Drawn by T. Young. Stauffer 1249. Hamlin was among the earliest Providence engravers. He was a dealer in nautical and scientific equipment and instruments who also engaged in engraving.
