Stiff Wraps. Hamper, Bill (illustrator). First edition. 32 unnumbered pages. 25.5 x 16 cm. Eight full page colored woodcuts by Bill Hamper printed recto only. Distributed by Black Hand Books. The front cover notes copy one of 15 with Hamper's name in pencil on front cover. There is no mention of him in the interior of the book. Billy Childish (born Steven John Hamper, 1 December 1959) is an English painter, author, poet, photographer, film maker, singer and guitarist. He was influenced by Dada and the work Kurt Schwitters. He founded Hangman Books, publishing poetry and fiction. OCLC:7007003 notes the second edition only and as 14 cm. in size -- our copy much larger. Titles of each illustration written in pencil by hand. Back cover has Black Hand imprint at bottom. Untrimmed fore-edges. Cover an original woodcut. Fine.
