Peter Handke nació en 1942 en Griffen / Carintia (Austria). Escritor independiente desde su primera novela Die Hornissen (1966), además de ensayista, poeta, crítico y cineasta, vive hoy en Chaville, cerca de París. Su obra ha sido ampliamente traducida al castellano. Peter Hamm nació en 1937 en Múnich, poeta, editor y crítico, ha realizado películas documentales acerca de Robert Walser, Fernando Pessoa, Ingeborg Bachmann, Hans Werner Henze, Hans Eisler y Alfred Brendel, entre otros. Actualmente vive en su ciudad natal. En Vivan las ilusiones Peter Hamm conversa con Peter Handke acerca de su visión del mundo, sus influencias biográficas, filosofía y fe, también sobre la escritura, libros y autores.
