The book is bound in red cloth with and illustration of Little Owl on the front cover. Spine has darkened. The bottom corner of the front cover has a tiny crease. There is sun-toning on the cover edges. Name of previous owner and small simple drawing of a flower on the ffe. There is light foxing throughout the book and the text and illustrations are generally clean and unmarked. The dust jacket is in very good condition with a 1" tear on the bottom edge of the back panel and small chips of missing paper at the ends of the spine pane. The original price-"$3.50" is on the front flap.

Condition: Gut. 17 Bl., unpag., mit zahlreichen mehrfarbigen Illustrationen. Das kleine Käuzchen lebt im Hinterbein eines in die Jahre gekommenen Reiterdenkmals. Wie es sich für ein Käuzchen gehört, ist es in der Nacht sehr aktiv. Das Käuzchen schließt Freundschaft mit dem kleinen Jungen Klaus, der in einem Mietshaus wohnt und auch nachts aus dem Fenster guckt. In einer Winternacht fängt der Dachstuhl des alten Mietshauses Feuer. Es kommt zu einer unglaublich heldenhaften Aktion des kleinen Käuzchens und seines Freundes Klaus.-Das Buch erschien ertsmals 1963 im Diogenes Verlag.
