The English author and translator Thomas Roscoe (1791-1871) partnered with artist James Duffield Harding (1798-1863) to produce this guide to Avignon, the Rhone Valley, Lyons, and much more. They also collaborated on The Tourist in Italy. That Harding was best known as an art teacher is indicated by the advertisement for his "Elementary Art; Or, the Use of the Lead Pencil" at rear.…
