Green leather hardcover. All edges gilt. Light wear to exterior. Dampstains. The English author and translator Thomas Roscoe (1791-1871) partnered with artist James Duffield Harding (1798-1863) to produce this guide to Avignon, the Rhone Valley, Lyons, and much more. They also collaborated on The Tourist in Italy. That Harding was best known as an art teacher is indicated by the advertisement for his "Elementary Art; Or, the Use of the Lead Pencil" at rear.

Title page tissue guard coming loose. Occasional dampstains. The English author and translator Thomas Roscoe (1791-1871) partnered with artist James Duffield Harding (1798-1863) to produce this guide to Milan, Lake Maggiore, Florence, Naples, Sorrento, and much more. They also collaborated on The Tourist in France.
