Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. RAILROADS MOTIVE POWER OF THE UNION PACIFIC KRATVILLE & RANKS 1960 HARD COVER DJ. Although I have a large number of books with railroad related books among my Florida-based inventory (now suspended until next winter), I also have just as many here in New York. Soback to listing railroad-related books, with another, titled: Motive Power of the Union Pacific, by William Kratville and Harold E. Ranks. This very large hard cover book (8 ¾ x 11 ¼ inches, 322 pages) was published by the Barnhart Press of Omaha, Nebraska, dated 1960. The book is bound in maroon cloth boards with once gilt titles on cover and spine and protected by a pictorial dust jacket. The book is lavishly illustrated, albeit with vintage b&w photos of the many locomotives of the Union Pacific fleet. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket is a bit dust-dulled but otherwise clean and without any real edge wear, save for one ¼ inch tear on the upper rear cover. The hard covers too seem a bit dust-dulled and the gilt titles slightly tarnished but are without blemish or bumping. Inside, the book is unmarked and the pages and plates are clean and bright from cover to cover. Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.…
