Vintage script for the American run of the 1975 British play. A publisher's quiet afternoon at home is repeatedly interrupted by his tenant, his brother, his friends, and his wife, whose disturbances gradually strip away his mild-mannered facade, revealing his cruel nature in the process. Playwright Simon Gray is best remembered for his collaborations with director Harold Pinter, beginning with the 1971 play "Butley." The play made its Broadway debut at the Plymouth Theatre in February of 1977, after running for two years at the Queen's Theatre in London. Winner of the New York Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play. Blue titled Studio Duplicating Service wrappers with credit for playwright Simon Gray. Title page present, with credit for Gray. 76 leaves, with last page of text numbered 2-33. Xerographic duplication, rectos only.
