Dark maroon boards well rubbed; board edges worn; spine's surface material completely lacking with underlying mesh exposed lengthwise and quire tips visible at ends. Pages 25-40 bound-in reverse; edge-worn color plate opposite page 99 detached and now laid-in. Past owner's personal name-address label at front pastedown's upper left; some foxing and staining as well as soiling to leaves; pencil underlining on page 1 with doodle drawing on rear free endpaper recto. Joints/hinges weak from spine damage with text block stressed. Scarce albeit incomplete bookseller ink stamp for Jackson, Mississippi retailer Chambers Office Supply Co. on front pastedown and, as the firms was in business in the 1910s and 1920s, the stamp should be contemporary to the book.
