The focus on wartime problems seems a bit dated, but the juvenile relationships and the conquest of beat problems are lively and convincingly done, with a vitality enhanced by the Harve Stein illustrations. A clean and very presentable copy in Brodart mylar.

First published in 1942, this is a revised new edition. The contributors include Elizabeth Coatsworth, Charles J. Finger, Glen Rounds, Carl Sandburg, Eleanor Farjeon, and a few Benets (Stephen Vincent, wife Rosemary, and sister Laura). Lots of illustrations. Covers have minor spotting and there's some slight staining to edges of textblock, but a very good copy indeed.
