Damage on spine, with old glue repair. Gilt on spine gone. Interior front hinge weak, else pages are clean and tight. With clear, mylar wrapper. CONTENTS DESCRIPTION: Scarce Illinois regimental history of the 93rd Infantry. The 93rd served in Western Theater and is identified as one of the Fox 300 Fighting Regiments. Joined Grant's Northern Mississippi Campaign in 1862 and the Yazoo Pass Expedition, Vicksburg and Chattanooga in 1863. Moved into Alabama in 1864 and joined the campaign into Georgia, suffering numerous casualties at Allatoona. Following through Georgia and into the Carolinas. Participated in the Grand Review. REFERENCE: DORN Ill #305; NEVINS I pg 170: "Written by the regimental adjutant; highly statistical and at times overly dramatic." FOX 300 pg 374.

Quite a rare regimental. Good copy of the first edition. No dust jacket. The spine is sun faded and light soiling on the cover, otherwise a very good copy.
