F. besuchte ab 1905 natur- und geisteswissenschaftl. Vorlesungen an der Univ. Zürich, ab 1908 studierte sie Anthropologie und Anatomie (1912 Promotion). Ein Medizinstudium blieb ihr wegen des fehlenden Latinums verwehrt. Ab 1912 Assistentin am Anatom. Institut Zürich, 1918 PD für Anatomie und Entwicklungsgeschichte, 1920-29 und 1931-38 Prosektorin. 1924 wurde F. erste Professorin (Titularprof.) an der Univ. Zürich und erste Anatomieprofessorin der Schweiz. Ihr Forschungsgebiet war die phylogenet. Anatomie des Rumpfskeletts und der Beinmuskulatur. F. war in Verbänden der Anatomen der Schweiz. Hochschulen und im Schweiz. Verband der Akademikerinnen aktiv» (HLS).
