Tan cloth boards with pastedown on the front are tearing at the corners, some patchiness, tear top edge middle, tears and loss head/tail of spine, spine darkened. Front and rear hinges both breaking, shaken, old tape ghosts inside front and rear covers, pink pencil name inside front cover. First few pages have some bends and edge damage, a few page tears on the interior. 1902 John C. Winston Co. Color frontis and many interior full page and in-text black and white illustrations. All orders packed with care, most dust jackets protected by Brodart sleeve, independent bookseller since 2011.

Else binding fairly clean. Gift inscription, inked out, on second blank page. Dampstain to top edge and bottom corners of title page and frontis. Some smudged soil to page edges.
