Bower, was an American author who wrote novels, fictional short stories, and screenplays about the American Old West. Her works, featuring cowboys and cows of the Flying U Ranch in Montana, reflected "an interest in ranch life, the use of working cowboys as main characters (even in romantic plots), the occasional appearance of eastern types for the sake of contrast, a sense of western geography as simultaneously harsh and grand, and a good deal of factual attention to such matters as cattle branding and bronc busting.

(1873-1940) was thrust into developing businesses in Europe following his service in US Army during WWI. Among the businesses he founded and governmental offices he held, he co-founded the Alexander Hamilton Institute which provided training in law and business. He was noted as author of books on salesmanship and advertising. Hardcover set has red leatherette cloth boards with gilt lettering and ornamentation on front and spine, but no DJs. Carefully handled with square corners and sound gutters, the set appears unread. Minor shelf-wear. Contents appears complete with no markings in text nor ownership in end papers.
