SIGNED by the illustrator on contents page. Contents include a Preface by Alice Ravenal Huger Smith; 'The Rice Coast: Its Story and Its Meaning' by Herbert Ravenel Sass and 'A Plantation Boyhood' - from the unpublished memoirs of D.E. Huger Smith. Smith was an American painter and printmaker and one of the leading figures in the so-called Charleston Renaissance.
