A letter on headed Local Government Board Whitehall paper of which he was president at the time, dated 17th August 1914 addressed to Rt. Hon. J. H. Whitley, M.P. stating " he has received your letter with respect to the worsted trade in Halifax and he will bring it to the notice of the War Office" . Herbert Louis Samuel, 1st Viscount Samuel (6 November 1870 - 5 February 1963) was a British Liberal politician who was the party leader from 1931 to 1935. The first Jew to serve as a Cabinet minister, he became the leader of the Liberal Party, a major British political party. Light marking. Size is 240mm x 190mm. Condition is good.
