Den wichtigsten Teil bildet die fotografische und archivalische Dokumentation der etwa 430 damals ausgestellten Werke: eine kriminalistische Meisterleistung angesichts der Tatsache, dass Sammlungsbestände an andere Institutionen überstellt oder veräußert wurden, Bilder verschollen oder zerstört sind.
