Some small spots to the fore-edge of the page block, which has a light abrasion, but which is otherwise clean. No reading lean to the binding. Spine tight. Highlights of the collection include four handwritten poems, two handwritten letters and several handwritten or typed postcards from Hermann Hesse to Jacob Flach. In total ten documents are signed by Hermann Hesse with another four carrying his initials. Jacob "Köbi" Flach (1894 - 1982) was a Swiss Author, Painter, and Marionette Pupetteer (founder of the Ascona Marionette Theatre). Hermann Hesse met Flach for the first time in 1917 while sharing accommodation with him. The two men stayed in touch for many years and visited each other occasionally.
