For several years E. Tériade contributed and remained involved with the review, but departed in December 1937, when the 10th volume was published.In 1937 he founded the quarterly journal Verve, (1937-1960), for which he commissioned artists such as Picasso, Matisse, and Marc Chagall to produce a series of works.
