Condition: Very good plus. First Edition. First edition of this delightful collection of rhymes, stories, and illustrations, with a gorgeous fairy cover. The structure of PIXIE-LAND feels very much like a children's holiday annual - the inscription, dated Christmas of 1932, reinforces this similarity. It is full of delightful tales and illustrations, many mimicking Greenaway, Rose O'Neill's Kewpies, and other popular artists of the day. 8.75'' x 6.25''. Original color pictorial boards. Color frontispiece with one color plate and black-and-white line drawings throughout. [80] pages. Gift inscription to front pastedown, dated Dec. 25th 1932. Advertising leaflet for the publisher's other titles loosely laid in. Binding with mild edgewear, boards a touch bowed. Leaves with occasional faint foxing. Bright.
